Concert planned to benefit crash victims

The community of Melrose is rallying around two of their own who were hospitalized after a head-on collision Aug. 8.

The community is planning a benefit concert 3 p.m. Sept. 5 to help the families with medical expenses.

Ramon Arenivar and Jordan Beard have under gone several surgeries, according to event organizer Randy Lesly. Lesly said Beard remains in the hospital.

Lelsy said the concert, held at Baxter Memorial Park, will be free but food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Donation jars will also be available through out the park and a silent auction will be held. He said the whole of the proceeds will be split between the two families.

Lesly said their isn’t a financial goal for the event.

“This is just something we wanted to do for them,” he said.
