Farwell schools superintendent takes Elida High School principal job

Freedom New Mexico

Farwell Independent School District Superintendent Larry Gregory resigned Monday during a special meeting of the Farwell School Board.

Gregory’s resignation is effective June 30. He will begin working as the principal of Elida High School for the next school year.

Gregory said he had the opportunity to retire in Texas, but wasn’t entirely ready to give up working in education.

“I enjoy education and working with kids and the opportunity to retire and to continue my work exists in Elida,” Gregory said.

Gregory was superintendent at Farwell for 11 years after working as a girls and boys varsity basketball coach. Gregory said he and his wife, Robin, an art teacher at Farwell, will move to Elida.
