The New Mexico Game and Fish Department is offering a $500 reward for information about a deer poaching southwest of Fort Sumner.

The carcass of a mule deer was found dumped off the N.M. 20 bridge over Yeso Creek. Officers believe the buck was killed and dumped sometime during the weekend of June 6-7.

The head, backstraps and quarters had been removed.
