Two local residents jailed on drug charges

Two Portales residents are jailed on felony drug charges after officers from several local law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant Friday and found suspected methamphetamines, crack cocaine and related drug paraphernalia, according to a release from the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department.

Police said the search took place at 101 E. Nogal St., and Ernesto Gallegos and Anna Montano were taken into custody.

Gallegos, 49, is being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center in lieu of $51,500 bond on charges of trafficking methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia.
