Information on making gel candles and recipes for children to make will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Diane Lieb will show how to make gel candles, which are great for gifts when you aren't allowed to burn candles in dorms, offices or living facilities. Gel candles are fun to make and can be poured into lots of different items. They also last longer than traditional candles. Lieb lives in Portales.

Pat Baird has written a very different cookbook called “Cooking with Mickey and Friends.” Baird will demonstrate some recipes that are easy to make and even easier to eat — whether you’re a kid or not. She represents the Washington Apple Commission and lives in Greenwich, Conn.

Information on telephone scams, making salads with pistachios, and making a Roman shade head rail will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and at noon Thursday.

According to Linda Davis, Americans lose more than $40 billion a year to telemarketing fraud! She’ll talk about how to protect yourself as well as your family and friends. Davis is vice president of operations with Portales National Bank.

Lisa Journagan, of the California Pistachio Commission, will demonstrate making salads with nutritious and delicious pistachios.
