Press release: Broadway comes to Clovis

Take a memorable journey from one show-stopping song to the next when Clovis Community College and The Citizens Bank of Clovis present The Best of Broadway—The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber on Saturday, April 25 at 7pm in Marshall Auditorium. This concert is part of the 2008-2009 Cultural Arts Series.

This special performance is a musical showcase of one of the most prolific and daring composers of all time. Featuring songs from Phantom Of The Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Evita, Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar, audience members will experience passion, romance and comedy during this emotional ride through some of Broadway’s greatest moments.

What makes this performance so special is that three of the performers starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber shows both on Broadway as well as on national and world tours. Their combined credits include Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Evita. The singers have performed at Carnegie Hall, the White House and with major symphony orchestras including the Houston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra and Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. The genius of Andrew Lloyd Webber and the extraordinary talent of these performers create a memorable and exciting evening of musical entertainment.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has won six Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, three Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Oscar. At one time he had five shows running in London and three on Broadway simultaneously.
