Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 3 a.m. Feb. 14 an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Stanton for a report of a fight.
While standing at the front door, the officer noted blood smeared on the walls and all over the floor.
A 41-year-old man was in the bathroom cleaning wounds on his face and head. He said he had been drinking with another man at the residence and for an unknown reason they began fighting.
He said he wanted to press charges for battery.
The other man, 22-years-old, told the same story but said he did not want to press charges.
The officer noted intent to obtain an arrest warrant for the younger man.

About midnight Feb. 14 an officer on patrol in the 1500 block of north Prince Street conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle.
When the officer approached the driver’s window he noted an odor of unburned marijuana and observed pieces of a green leafy substance on the dashboard.
The driver of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle and the officer located a small block of compressed marijuana in the pocket of a backpack. The officer also found a set of scales.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and his vehicle was released to his passengers.

About 7 p.m. Feb. 15 an officer responded to the 400 block of Hall Street for a report of a fight.
The officer located two males in the area of Fifth and Sycamore Streets fitting a description give by the caller.
One of the men was found to be carrying a loaded handgun and had a white granular substance wrapped in a dollar bill in his pocket.
The man told the officer the substance was methamphetamine.
A convicted felon, the man was arrested for having the firearm in his possession and for possession of meth.

About 5 p.m. Feb. 15 an officer responded to a report of a crash in the 4000 block of Mabry Drive.
A vehicle turning into the driveway of a business was struck by another vehicle traveling west on Mabry Drive. The impact pushed the vehicle into the wall of the business, while the other vehicle spun through a ditch and after two 360-degree turns, came to rest at the original point of impact.
Both drivers were transported to the emergency room.
Citations were pending completion of the investigation.
