Dec. 11 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 2 p.m. Dec. 1 an officer responded to a store in the 2000 block of Prince Street for a shoplifting report.

A woman said she saw a man and woman pull up in front of the store in a pick-up truck, run into the foyer, take a Christmas tree that was on display and leave with it.

The manager confirmed a seven-foot tall, decorated tree valued around $400 was taken.

About 8 p.m. Dec. 1 officers responded to a report of a crashed vehicle and power lines down in the area of Mitchell and Sutter Streets.

A crashed vehicle was found with its airbags deployed and keys in the ignition sitting in the street and a nearby power line broken, and officers noted the power line damage caused a power outage in the area.

Officers found the registered owner of the vehicle at her home and noted she appeared intoxicated. She said she had a beer after getting home from the crash.

Officers administered sobriety tests and arrested the 32-year-old woman for DWI, leaving the scene of a crash and careless driving.

About 4 a.m. Dec. 2 an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Oak Street for an incomplete 911 call.

A woman at the home said her boyfriend had tried to choke her and threatened her and she wanted him removed from her home.

She also told police her boyfriend had a large amount of “dope” in his pocket.

Officers located a baggy with several pieces of rock cocaine in the man’s pockets and arrested him for trafficking cocaine.

Around 11 a.m. Dec. 2 an officer took a report of child abandonment at the police department.

A female juvenile said when her mother was driving her to school that morning, she got angry and kicked her out of the car at the intersection of Llano Estacado Boulevard and Norris streets.

The girl said her mother told her to walk to school, which was a good distance away, and left her there, so she walked to a store on Prince Street and called her father.

The girl’s father said he didn’t want to file charges against his wife, but wanted a report on record because he felt his wife put their daughter in an unsafe situation.
