The Eastern New Mexico University brass choir and jazz ensemble will hold its inaugural combined concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Campus Union Building Ballroom.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The jazz ensemble will be directed by Chris Beaty and the brass choir will be directed Dr. Michael Ellzey.

This combined performance will be a “musical feast,” says Beaty.

The brass choir will perform traditional pieces arranged by Robert Elkger, including the “Coventry Carol/Carol of the Bells,” “Silent Night” and “Angels We Have Heard on High/Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”

The Jazz Ensemble will perform “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Mele Kalikimaka,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Portales,” arranged by Beaty, and “Sugar Rum Cherry,” which is Duke Ellington’s transcription of the Nutcracker piece.
