Railroad work nearing completion

Maintenance work on the U.S. Highway 60/84 railroad crossing should be completed Tuesday, according to a BNSF Railway spokesman.

A small section of U.S. 60/84 at the New Mexico-Texas state line has been closed since Friday when BNSF Railway construction crews started a resurfacing project on the crossing, according to railway spokesman Joe Faust.

Foust said the highway should be reopened some time today.

“It should be a lot smoother for motorists,” he said.

Traffic is being detoured onto U.S. Highway 60.
