Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 2 a.m. June 11 an officer responded to a business in the 1300 block of Prince street for a robbery.
A clerk said two men threatened to hit him and demanded money.
He gave them an unknown amount of cash and they took three cartons of cigarettes, then fled the store.

About 8:30 a.m. June 12 officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Main Street for a burglary.
A woman said when she arrived to work she noticed the front glass was broken at the business next door.
Officers found pieces of jewelry lying in front of the business, skin on the broken glass, and a trail of blood leading away from the store.
The officers followed the blood trail to a residence on Wallace, where a woman said a male she knew came to the door the night before with cuts on both arms. She tried to stop the bleeding and he left.
The suspect’s family said they didn’t know where he was.
Approximately $3,000 worth of merchandise was taken in the burglary.

Around 11 a.m. June 12 an officer took a battery report at the police department.
A woman said about a week before, her 20-year-old brother was brought home by some friends who said he had fallen down the stairs. The next morning she said family couldn’t wake him so they took him to the hospital, where it was discovered he had a skull fracture.
She said she learned later that her brother’s friends had been bragging that they caused his injuries.
The victim told the officer he couldn’t remember anything that happened.
The officer took contact information for the victim’s friends.

Around 9 p.m. June 12 an officer responded to the area of 14th and Lea streets to assist a parole officer with a suspect who was hiding.
The suspect was located in a garage and was told to lie down so officers could handcuff him.
Instead, the suspect turned toward the officer and the officer noted a small knife in his hand.
When the suspect began advancing, the officer said he shot him with his Taser.
He was taken to the jail.
