Udall seeks students as interns
Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., is accepting applications from college students for the summer internship programs in his Capitol Hill and New Mexico district offices, according to a news release.
To apply for an internship, candidates must send a cover letter and resume to:

Interviews and selections will take place during the second half of March and notifications made by April 1.

ENMU hosting national qualifier
Eastern New Mexico University is host to the 2008 American Forensic Association District IX qualifier for the National Debate Tournament, according to a news release.
The tournament is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Campus Union Building. Visitors are welcome.
Teams participating are from the University of Wyoming, Weber State University, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Idaho State University, University of Denver, Arizona State University and Eastern New Mexico University.

Xcel named in top 100
Xcel Energy has been named one of the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” for 2008 by Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine (CRO), according to a news release.
Xcel Energy is ranked 29th on the CRO list. The magazine ranks large-cap, U.S.-headquartered, public companies based on efforts and performance in the areas of climate change, employee relations, environment, financial, governance, human rights, lobbying and philanthropy. According to CRO, climate change and other issues related to the environment receive the greatest weight because of their importance.
The utilities industry was the largest represented sector in “100 Best in 2008,” with 19 utilities among those companies recognized.
