Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Police stopped a driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated at 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Axtell and Yucca streets. The driver, a 25-year-old woman, failed field sobriety tests and tested at .18 and .19 on a breathalyzer. She was arrested for aggravated DWI.
Police located a shoplifting suspect at about 6 p.m. Saturday near the 2800 block of North Prince Street. He was carrying a plastic bag with clothing in it. When an officer approached him, he gave a false name, then ran and threw the bag into an alley. When police caught him, he was detained and taken to the Curry County Detention Center, where his identity was verified. The man had taken clothing valued at $170 from a store. He was charged with burglary, evading a police officer and concealing identity. He also was arrested on a warrant for shoplifting.
