Clovis schools are celebrating their annual “Music In Our Schools” week.

Editors asked readers if they have a favorite music teacher.

Christian Heller’s response:

“I enjoy the concerts at Marshall (Junior High) and other venues. They are always a feast and delight to the ears. I am still very partial to Wayne Anderson, having known him for years and years. There are a multitude of gifted instructors.”

Doug McGregor’s response:

“Norvil Howell, the champion of champions. He has given more students pride, respect for themselves and leadership skills, along with showing them how to have goals and accomplish them to a more diverse group than any other teacher or instructor I have ever known. He also was one that would give credit when credit was due and he was not one to sugar coat the truth -- something we need more of today.”

Christy Mendoza’s response:

“Every teacher and (education assistant) at Bella Vista Arts Academy. Just show up for one of their Breakfast with the Arts on Friday mornings. You can't leave there without feeling good. Can you imagine how it feels to go to school there?”
