Beware the full moon

The Old Farmer’s Almanac reports we’ll see our first full moon of 2008 tonight.

Clovis’ Gerald Majewski reports he had a memorable full-moon experience outside his apartment building when he lived in Budapest.

“I heard voices in the middle of our courtyard and wanted to know just what was going on,” he wrote in an e-mail.

When he went to investigate, he found he was alone – and locked out of his building for three hours before help arrived.

“I think I have had my share of weird and unusual things happen to me in both my military and foreign service careers,” he wrote. “But I’d probably do it again.”

St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina will host its annual German Sausage Dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (CST) on Feb. 3.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 6. Or you can purchase sausage for $4 per pound.

The menu includes creamed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sauerkraut, bread and desserts.
