Education Digest: Wayland Baptist University holding open house

Wayland Baptist University in Plainview is hosting an open house starting at 8:30 a.m. (CST) Saturday for high school juniors, seniors and transfer students, according to a university news release.

Visitors can tour the campus, attend mock classes, audition for music, art and theater scholarships and tryout for baseball and soccer teams, according to the release.

Cystic Fibrosis scholarship awarded to Clovis student

A Clovis college student received a two-year scholarship for college students with Cystic Fibrosis last month, according to a press release from Solvay Pharmaceuticals.

ENMU freshman Hollee Plyler is one of 100 students with the lung disease who received $2,800 from the drug company, according to the release.

ENMU book fair planned to benefit special education

The Eastern New Mexico University Student Council for Exceptional Children is hosting a two-day book fair to raise money for scholarships for special education children, according to an ENMU news release.

The Scholastic Book Fair is 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Education building lobby, according to the release.
