Clovis man sentenced for stalking

A 45-year-old Clovis man will serve six years in prison in connection with a two-year stalking spree, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s office.

Brent Walker pleaded guilty to arson, attempted arson, aggravated stalking, shooting at a dwelling, telephone harassment and tampering with evidence, the release said.

Walker harassed his former girlfriend by phone for a year starting in August 2004, the release said.

In 2006, he shot into his former girlfriend’s mother’s home with a shotgun and tried to set her new husband’s truck on fire, the release said.

A second attempt to set the truck on fire in May 2006 was successful and the truck was destroyed by fire, the release said.

Walker was ordered to undergo mental health treatment while incarcerated and will be placed on supervised probation for two years upon release.

He is also ordered to pay restitution to his victims, the release said.
