Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The Portales Municipal Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday evening in the board room.
Board members met in the special session to award the bid for a window replacement project at Portales High School and James Elementary School. Bids were opened at 11 a.m. on Monday with two companies bidding on the project, said superintendent Randy Fowler.
The board voted to award the project bid to Wilson and Wilson General Contracting, Inc. The company, based out of Clovis, outbid LCI2, also of Clovis, by a $20,000 margin.
According to Fowler, LCI2 had been utilized for a window project prior to the one awarded today.
“Even though you prefer the same company do the project they are familiar with, with public funds you use the lowest bid,” Fowler said.
