Army Pvt. Jake N. Lemon has graduated from the H-8 Tracked Vehicle Recovery Specialist Course at Fort Knox, Ky., according to an Army & Air Force Hometown News press release.

He is the son of B.J. Landsperg of Portales, and a 2006 graduate of Portales High School.

Barrett

Air Force Airman Ian C. Barrett has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, according to an Army & Air Force Hometown News press release.

He is the son of David Barrett of Clovis.

Airmen completing basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Ortiz

Air Force Staff Sgt. Joseph D. Ortiz is deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, according to an Army & Air Force Hometown News press release.

He is the son of Federico and Hope L. Ortiz of Tucumcari, and a 2000 Tucumcari High School graduate.
