Local Roundup: Multiple Sclerosis walk planned

The 2007 Valero Energy Multiple Sclarosis Walk is being held April 28 at Clovis Community College.

Proceeds from the MS Walks help fund research, and programs and support for persons with MS.

Sign-in is at 9 a.m. and the four-mile walk starts at 10 a.m.

Board candidate forum scheduled

The Curry County Federated Republican Women organization is holding a Clovis Community College board candidate forum from 12-12:45 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Holiday Inn coffee room.

Federated Republican Women President Donna Labatt will moderated the forum. Questions from the audience will be taken.

Former sheriff hospitalized

Former Curry County Sheriff Roger Hatcher had surgical procedure performed Monday morning to place two stints to alleviate blockages in his heart, according to Curry County Commission chairman Tim Ashley.

Hatcher is expected to be released from a Lubbock hospital today or Wednesday, officials said.

Hatcher was in good spirits and looking forward to returning home, Ashleysaid.

Ashley said Hatcher was taken to a Clovis hospital Sunday complaining of chest pains.

Hatcher completed his two-term limit of eight years as sheriff in December.
