Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 3:30 a.m. Dec. 9 an officer was called to a convenience store in the 1400 block of Norris Street for a report of larceny. According to the clerk, a man asked for change for a dollar, and when the register was opened, he reached across the counter and grabbed about $20 from the drawer. The man ran from the store. Police collected video from surveillance cameras. The case is under investigation.
About 4 p.m. Dec. 9, an officer was called to a home in the 200 block of La Salle Drive for a report of theft. The resident told the officer a metal-frame deer valued at $45 was missing from his front yard. He said he last remembered seeing it the day before. There are no suspects.
Around midnight Monday an officer responded to a home in the 2000 block of Gidding Street for a report of a stolen dog. The man said he hadn’t seen his Chinese pug since 2 p.m. The officer noted the yard seemed to be secure. The case is under investigation.
About 7:30 a.m. Tuesday an officer was called to a school in the 100 block of Plains Avenue for a report of vandalism. The principal told the officer he had discovered a shattered window, which he believed was fine the day before. Damage is estimated at $750. There are no suspects.
