Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 8:30 a.m. Monday an officer responded to a home in the 200 block of West Tierra Blanca when a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run showed to be registered to a resident there. Police met with a woman who said she owned the car but had left it parked out front with the keys in it. The woman told police she had not driven it nor loaned it to anyone and did not know the car was gone. During interviews with another officer, the woman made inconsistent statements. The case is under investigation.

Around 2 p.m. Tuesday an officer responded to the 800 block of County Road 7 for a report of stolen tools. The man said he had discovered several new tools valued at $955 missing from his work truck. The man told the officer he had run several errands in the truck and was not sure when the items were stolen or who could have taken them. The case is under investigation.

About 4 p.m. Tuesday an officer was dispatched to a store in the 3900 block of North Prince Street for a public affray. The officer met with a woman who was crying and had a bruised eye, a bleeding scratch on her chest and hair all over her shirt. She said she had a confrontation with someone she knew inside the store, and as she was getting in her car to leave, the woman opened her car door and began pulling her hair and hitting her. She said the woman got in her car and left. The case is under investigation.

About 11:30 p.m. Wednesday officers were sent to a home in the 900 block of Sunrise Boulevard and the dispatcher had advised them a male caller en route to the location had said two females were threatening by phone to break into his home. The officers discovered a car with the windshield and rear window broken. The male later identified the car as his. While at the scene the man received a telephone call he put on speakerphone. Officers heard a female voice say, “Hell, yeah, I broke your windows.” The case is under investigation.
