A former Lea County prosecutor has been hired as a deputy district attorney in the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s office, making him the 12th full-time prosecutor working in Curry and Roosevelt counties, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.
Brian Stover, formerly of the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s office, was hired to fill the last of three openings allocated for the 9th Judicial District by the 2006 state legislative session, the release said.
According to the release, Stover has seven years of legal experience ranging from prosecuting DWIs to capital murder cases.
In early August, the district attorney’s office announced it hired two assistant district attorneys, Ben Cross and Hollie Albright.
