6/11 Police blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 12 p.m. June 2, an officer responded to the 200 block of Wrangler to take a burglary report.

A real estate agent said she was selling the house for an out-of-town owner.

She said she had discovered someone had entered the house and set a small fire on the living room carpet. She indicated a doggie door to police as the only way someone might have gained entry.

The case is being investigated.

About 5:30 June 2, an officer responded to the 100 block of Herb Street for a man harassing and threatening his family and neighbors.

The officer was told by witnesses he had been cussing at his neighbor, making racial slurs and saying he was going to kill his family and burn their house down. The officer spoke with the man’s family and they told him he had been threatening them too.

The man was arrested when he went back to his home. Witnesses said he had a gun.

Approximately 4 p.m. June 4, officers were called to the 1100 block of Apollo Court for a violent subject.

The officers saw a male through the door of the home, sitting at the kitchen table yelling and striking the table with his fist. When they approached the man, he punched one of the officers in the face.

The man was restrained and taken by emergency workers to Plains Regional Medical Center.

Around 6 a.m. June 7, an officer was called to an alley behind a coffee shop in the 1100 block of Oakhurst in reference to a dead body. Officers discovered the body of a man with a shotgun lying beside him. Residents of the area identified the man and told police the he lived nearby. A suicide note was found in the man’s home.
