Lucy T. Hornberger, 84, of Clovis, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born Sept. 4, 1921, to Juan and Rita Garcia Sena in Santa Rosa.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She belonged to the Harvey House, where she worked as a Harvey Girl in her youth.
Family members said she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her life revolved around her family, they said, and she loved tending to her flowers and just being around her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlin G. Hornberger; life partner, Truman Welch; six brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara McDaniel (and husband, C.D.) of Clovis and Rosie Henry (Don Lee) of Cloudcroft; five grandchildren, Vicky Garcia (Ernie) of Carlsbad, Bill Tryan of Clovis, Tami Spriggs (Sam McKinley) of Portales, Kym Eppler (Terry Moore) of Clovis and Michelle Balch of Clovis; two sisters, Florence Garcia and Maggie Casaus, both of Clovis; one brother, Raymond Sena (Susie) of Clovis; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A rosary will be said for her at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Father Carlos Chavez will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Pallbearers will C.D. McDaniel, Don Lee, Bill Tryan, Chanse Baber, Matthew Tryan and Cheno Moreno.
