Dolores Winona Jackson, 76, of Redlands, Calif., formerly of Fort Sumner and Amarillo, died Sunday, May 14, 2006.
Born April 16, 1930, in Elk City, Okla., she married Donald L. Jackson on March 12, 1950, in Fort Sumner. She worked as a secretary for civil services. She belonged to the Church of the Nazarene. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren, family members said, and she dedicated her life to her family, church and the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a grandson.
She is survived by four sons, Don Jackson of Anchorage, Alaska, Dwayne Jackson and Darrell Jackson, both of Amarillo, and Danny Jackson of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Denise Cox of Riverside and Donita Silk of Nashville, Tenn.; a grandson she raised, Don Jackson of Amarillo; two brothers, Jerry Wheeler of California and Terry Wheeler of Arizona; one sister, Phyllis Wright of Clovis; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Larry Dunlap, pastor of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene, Amarillo, will officiate services. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery, Amarillo.
Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
