Charles Crosby McLaughlin, 87, of Roswell died Saturday, March 25, 2006, in Roswell.
He was born on June 22, 1918, in Poquonock Bridge, Conn., to Clarence Crosby McLaughlin and Nellie Bell Bundrock-McLaughlin.
On August 6, 1941, in Paw Paw, Mich., he married Wyva Fifine Peacock.
He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years before retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was also a member of the Elk’s Club, the Lions Club, Retired Officers Association, American Legion and the VFW. Family members said he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Cleon Crosby McLaughlin of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Calvin Crosby McLaughlin of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Lilla Belle Ballew of Clovis and Alisa May Runyan of Kaiserslautern, Germany; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Stephen Ballew, his grandson, will officiate services.
Arrangements are by Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory, Roswell.
