Cardenas, Consuelo

Consuelo Aguirre Cardenas, 64, died March 8, 2006, in Morton. She was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Dallas to Felix Aguirre and Petra Santigo. She married Ridolfo “Rudy” B. Cardenas Sr. on Sept. 7, 1972, in Clovis. They moved to Morton in 1997 from Georgia. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother, family members said. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Morton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Rudy Cardenas Jr. and Raul Barrera, and a daughter, Florentina Cardenas.

She is survived by her husband; six sons, Jesus Barrera of Clovis, Guadalupe Aguirre and David, Steve, Eddie and Ralph Cardenas, all of Morton; a brother, Sunny Lucero of Lubbock; four sisters, Manuela Monreal, Maria and Marylou Garcia, all of Georgia, and Vicky Hernandez of Clovis; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Father Bill Anton will officiate services. A viewing will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (CST) today at Head Memorial Chapel in Morton. Interment will be at Morton Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Head & Duarte Funeral Home of Levelland, Texas.
