Kirksey, Doris

Doris Maxine Kirksey, 80, of Clovis died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at her home. She was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Walker, Iowa to Otha Francis and Ina Smith Hendrickson. She married Glenn Kirksey on Sept. 14, 1950, in Clovis. She was a homemaker, and a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Michael D. Kirksey of Forney, Texas, and David L. Kirksey of Lubbock; three daughters, Linda Ward of Waseca, Minn., Shirla Walker of Clovis and Laurie Ann Edwards of Wolfforth, Texas; a sister, Marie Folmer of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, James and Steffan Ward, Rachel, Michael Don, David Edmond and Marcus James Kirksey, and Jody J. Edwards; and six great-grandchildren.

Jim Gammon will officiate services.

Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Doug Williams, Ribble Holloman, Bob Hoy, Bob Geries, Steve Smith, Dr. Orvel Rozzell and Rex Beardain.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Cantrell, Sandy Spell, Melvin Venable and Ross Duke.
