Evelyn V. Spell, 77, of Clovis died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colo.
She was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Field to E. B. and Burness McDaniel Gibbs.
She married Glen Spell on Jan. 27, 1947. She was a member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ. Family members said she had a love for traveling and watching the Clovis Wildcats.
She was preceded in death by her father, E.B. Gibbs; and two brothers; Garland and Bennie Gibbs.
She is survived by her mother of Kit Carson, Colo.; her husband; a daughter; Cathy Sanders (and husband, Cliff) of Amarillo; three sons, Mike Spell (Candy) of Texico, Jim Spell of Belgrade, Mont., and Sandy Spell of Clovis; four grandchildren, Chris and Alisha Spell, Sheila Garcia and Summer Sanders; two great grandchildren, Noah Spell and Reagan Garcia; three sisters, Barbara Halderman of Denver, Colo., Frances Criswell of Idaho Springs, Colo., and Vada Mast of Plainview, Texas.
Jim Gammon will officiate services.
Burial will take place at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to 16th and Pile Church of Christ Building Fund.
