Valerie Rose “Ge Ge” Patterson, 74, of Clovis died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Laurel Ridge Nursing Home in Clovis from breast cancer.
She was born Jan. 19, 1931 to Paul and Julia Swantek Kolosky in Sturgeon Lake, Minn. She married Donald Patterson on Sept. 13,1952 in Sturgeon Lake. They lived in many places as a military family, including Florida, Kansas, Arkansas, Idaho, Minnesota, Germany, Texas and California. They lived in Clovis for the past 20 years.
She retired as a medical office clerk at Cannon Air Force Base.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and she and her husband were volunteer overseers of bingo in the snack bar at Sacred Heart for several years.
She enjoyed quilting, cooking and took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, family members said.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marjorie Rekola; and two brothers, William and Chester Kolosky.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Debbie Houston of Clovis; two sons, Rocky Patterson (and wife, Mary) of Tacoma, Wash., Michael Patterson (Sarah) of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, Leigh Ann Horner and Chase Houston, both of Clovis, Shelena and Rocky Patterson Jr., both of Tacoma, Wash., Hailey and Ashley Tiran-Patterson, both of Sacramento, Calif.. six great grandchildren, Lauren and Jori Horner and Chase, Michael and Josh Houston, all of Clovis, and Anthony Michael Patterson of Tacoma, Wash.
Deacon Daniel Chavez will officiate.
Cremation has taken place.
