Santa Fe man dies in one-car rollover

A Santa Fe man died Tuesday morning in a one car rollover accident on US 60/84 between Clovis and Fort Sumner, according to a press release from the New Mexico State Police.

Grant W. Kress, 57, was traveling east just after 6 a.m. near mile marker post 346 when he failed to properly negotiate a right-hand curve, according to the release. His vehicle left the road, and he overcorrected, crossing back across onto the south shoulder. The truck entered into a passenger-side “broadside slide,” the release said, and then rolled approximately three times.

Kress was killed in the rollover. The passenger, Laurine R. Kress, 52, was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was treated at the scene for injuries.

The investigation in to the crash is ongoing, officials said.
