Billie Doyle “Moses” Osborn, 66, of Abilene, Texas, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in Edinburg, Texas.
He was born on May 8, 1939, in Clovis, to Calvin and Flossie Osborn.
He came from a family of pioneers and ranchers who settled in the Portales area. He graduated from Chicopee High School in Massachusetts in 1953 and Abilene Christian College in 1957. In 1963 he graduated from the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tenn. He earned a master of education degree from the University of Texas in 1975. He was an English teacher in Texas for 40 years, teaching in Brownsville, Port Isabel, Mission and Houston.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Jayson Sharp.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Derrill R. Osborn of Dallas; a sister Karen Osborn Sharp (and husband, Joe); and a nephew, Stephen Sharp of Houston.
Cremation has taken place.
