Colonial Real Estate expanding

The Colonial One Stop convenience store on Prince Street shut down March 18 to make way for an expansion of Colonial Real Estate.

Gayla Brumfield, president of the real estate company and owner of the land, said the property will be used for additional offices. Colonial Real Estate will officially become a franchise of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp. on Friday, Brumfield said, which will require more office space as services expand.

The new name of the company will be Coldwell Banker Colonial Real Estate, she said.

“We are really excited about it,” she said. “It’s going to bring a lot of national exposure.”

The old convenience store building will be refurbished to accommodate Colonial property management and office space for Sun Chase Mortgage.

She said as part of Coldwell Banker, her company will have access to relocation services and national marketing.
