Garrett Duane Trower, 15, of Ransom Canyon, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1990, in Silver City to Larry Trower and Annette Rothpletz. He attended Marshall Junior High School in Clovis before moving to Slaton in 2004. He was an eighth-grader in Slaton and had participated in basketball, track, cross country, at both Marshall and Slaton Junior High School. He was also an honor student at both junior highs. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis, First Baptist Church in Slaton and Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. He was involved in the youth programs at all churches.
Survivors include a step-mother, Cindy Trower of Ransom Canyon, Texas; a step-father, Max Rothpletz of Sliver City; five brothers, Michael Trower of Ransom Canyon, Texas, Zach Trower of Las Cruces, Josh McPherson of Lubbock, Lucas Rothpletz of San Simon, Ariz., and Max Rothpletz (and wife, Cindy) of Tucson, Ariz.; five sisters, Heather and Brooke Trower, Dianne Rothpletz of Silver City, Leah McPherson of Ransom Canyon, Texas, and Heather Lentz (Chris) of Tucson, Ariz.; paternal grandparents, Jim and Zandra Trower of Carlsbad; maternal grandparents, John and Linda Baldwin of Silver City; paternal step-grandparents, Ernest and Bonnie Rothpletz of Phoenix; maternal step-grandparents, Carolyn and Jackie Vaughn of Lubbock and Tommy and Betty Lawson; maternal step-grandmother, Mary Lou Ross; maternal great-grandparents, Stan and Ouida White all of Carlsbad; maternal great-grandmother, Merlin Elizabeth Merryweather of Milford, Utah.
Dr. Cleve Kerby and Billy Palmer will officiate the services.
Burial will be Saturday in Beaver, Utah.
Memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Back in Slaton.
Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.
