CCC enrollment down slightly

Clovis Community College spring enrollment dipped slightly from last year, according to preliminary numbers released by the school Wednesday.

This spring, 3,963 students have enrolled, down from 4,171 in 2004.

Full time equivalency (FTE) totals for the school stand at 1,770, down from 1,828 last year when the school reached its high point in the last 10 years.

FTE describes the number of students that would be enrolled if all students took 15 credit hours. This number determines state funding for colleges and universities.

Lisa Spencer, director of marketing and community relations at the school, said 2005 spring enrollment could fluctuate until all registration has been processed.

In the last 10 years, student enrollment peaked with 4,271 in 1997.
