Mr. Frankie Gordon Coffman, 65, of Farwell, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He graduated in 1958 from Friona High School and attended West Texas State University. He was a resident of Farwell for many years, where he was employed at the Apple Shack. Family members said in his spare time he enjoyed wood working and gleaning fruits and vegetables, which was his passion to share with family, friends and the community. He was a member of the Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church, Men’s Breakfast Group, and the Emmaus Community.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1939, in Clovis, to E.R. “Weedy” and Joyce Barker Coffman.
He was preceded in death by his father; and three aunts.
He is survived by his mother; two sons, Bart Mills Coffman (and wife, Pam) of Alva, Okla., Bret Gordon Coffman (Amy) of Seattle; a daughter, Cassie Dera Coffman of Clovis; a brother, Hobbie Coffman of Farwell; five sisters, Sharon Joy Gallon of Stillwater, Okla., Melody Jayne Drake (Owen) of Friona, Alice Jean Ewald (Brian) of Sunlake, Ariz., Arlene Gaye Klump (Robert) of Farwell, and April Dawn King of Amarillo; three grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The Rev. Scott Spitsberg will officiate the services.
Burial will be held at a later date at Oklahoma Lane Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his church family and his brothers-in-law.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
