Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Semester ends
This week students completed wood projects in Darrell Bollinger’s industrial arts class in addition to projects and tests in other classes. As employees walk the halls, they hear students and teachers reviewing information from the Core Educational Concepts tests to reinforce the required learning in each subject.
Friday found students bringing canned items to donate to one of the children’s homes as admission to a sock hop planned by the student council to wrap up the final day of school.
New semester begins
School resumes for faculty and staff Jan. 3 when they gather for in-service training for two days. Students return to school Jan. 5. Parents are invited to school Jan. 14 for parent/teacher conferences. Students’ report cards will be available at that time.
Choir and band concert
Tuesday found the newly remodeled high school performing arts center filled with music as students from Franklyn Smith’s choir and Brandon Boerio’s band classes combined talents to present their winter concert. Several combinations of choir groups and both bands presented an enjoyable evening of music.
Happy holidays
All the faculty and staff wish each student and their families a wonderful, relaxing, safe holiday season.
