Mr. Maurice Eugene McGill, 72, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1932, to Claude and Edna Mae McGill in Crystal City, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and was an engineer for the AT&SF railroad. He was a member of the Clovis Masonic Lodge No. 40, and a faithful Christian. Family members said he loved his family with all his heart and always had a joke or a smile no matter how he felt. Family members said he enjoyed watching football, and loved to play Skip Bo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna McGill; a son, Ken Cooley; and a brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Myers (and husband, Billy) of Clovis; a granddaughter, Brittany Duffield of Clovis; two sisters, Anna Lee Irwin (Chuck) of Batesville, Texas, and Barbara Heck (Ernie) of Fallon, Nev.; three sister-in-laws, Phyllis Lewis of Clovis, Martha Ravan of Albuquerque, and Betty Ruth Hodge of Clovis; a brother-in-law, James Hodge (Betty) of Hereford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Gollmer, Joe Ward, Jim Ridling, Warren Ayers, Kyle Parker, Dr. Richard Stamm, Dr. Syed Mahdi.
