Mr. Russell Dwain Downey, 48, of House, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in Curry County.
He was born on July 7, 1956, in Clovis.
Family members said he was an outgoing person, who never met a stranger and was always ready to tell jokes to anyone who would listen. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in House and secretary of the House School Board. He was a loving husband, father, and brother, family members said.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Downey of the home; a son, Michael Downey of Waco, Texas; his parents, Russell and Bettye Downey and Dean Cameron, all of Clovis; two brothers, Alvin Downey (and wife, Glenda) of Friona, Texas, and David Downey (Glenda) of Clovis; three sisters, Teresa Bolls (Don) of West Africa, Pat Brand (David) of Hobbs, and Diane Barker (Sidney) of Emory, Texas; and his mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Cris Terry of San Jon.
The Rev. Sherman Martin will officiate the services assisted by the Rev. John Sparks.
Burial will be at San Jon Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Alvin and David Downey, David Brand, Bill and Clint Runyan, Don Smith, Steve Fought, Todd Pinnell and Wayne Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Downey Family Fund, American Heritage Bank in Clovis.
