PORTALES — Senior outside hitter Nicole Stoffel collected 24 kills and helped rally Angelo State past Eastern New Mexico University 24-30, 25-30, 30-26, 30-22, 15-9 in a Lone Star Conference South Division volleyball match at Greyhound Arena.
The Rambelles (18-7, 5-2 South) moved past the Zias into sole possession of second place in the division, one game behind Abilene Christian (21-7, 6-1), which won at West Texas A&M 30-28, 30-26, 37-35 on Saturday. The Zias (19-7, 4-3) lost for the first time in eight home matches this season.
Senior outside hitter Anna Bellum had 16 kills for the Zias, while sophomore middle blocker Grace George added 14. Eastern had only nine attack errors in the first two games combined, but committed 11 each in the third and fourth games.
