Mr. Raymond Hadley, 63, of Roswell, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at his home.
He was born on March 17, 1941, in Clovis, to John R. and Evelyn Hadley.
Family members said he was an avid fast-pitch softball player who was inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame in 1989. Recently he developed a love of drag racing and enjoyed working with good friend Lanny Dosher’s pit crew.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Gale Harrison; and a grandson, Harrison Clint Hadley.
Survivors include Carmelita Holland of the home; his father; two sons, Keith Hadley (and wife, Annetta) of Farwell and James Hadley (Becky) of Andrews, Texas; two daughters, Karen Lenderman (Lynn) of Kennard, Texas and Jessica Hadley of Texico; three sisters, Jean Smith (Eddie) of Farwell, Linda Harrison (Lloyd) of Clovis and Lou Ann Larson (Ray) of Brownfield, Texas; a brother, Richard Hadley (Shawn) of Texico; seven grandchildren, Hayden and Heath Hadley, Katelyn and John Lenderman and Joshua, Kelsey and Garrett Hadley; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
The Rev. Rob Hollis and the Rev. Monty Leavell will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
Pallbearers are O.B. Coffee, Bob Lacy, John Kopcik, David Pope, Lanny Dosher and Jerry D. Owen.
Honorary pallbearers are Mike Littlejohn and Scott Parker
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
