Julius Crofton Teal, 85, of Odessa, Texas, died Monday, March 8, 2004, in Yuma, Ariz.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1918, in Comanche, Texas, to Jess and Ada Dyson Teal.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy from Sept. 14, 1942, until his honorable discharge on Nov. 4, 1945. He served with the Construction Battalion “See Bees” at Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Sumner.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Martin of Seattle and Clara Dyer of Hale Center, Texas.

Sister Anna Teeter will officiate the services.

Burial of his cremains will be at Fort Sumner Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Fort Sumner.
