Freddie J. Marez, 48, of Clovis, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1956, in Clovis, to Liberato and Eloida Saiz Marez.
He married Josie Chavez on Dec. 29, 1973, in Clovis. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1975. He was a serviceman for New Mexico American Water Company. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 25. Family members said he loved working on classic cars and dancing. He coached little league for all of his children.
He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Joe I “Pepe” Sandoval; and a brother, Ricky Sandoval.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; a son, Daniel Marez of Clovis; two daughters, Amy Marez (Ronnie Romero) and Kassy Marez, all of Clovis; a brother, Joe Marez (and wife, Rosa) of Clovis; a sister, Dora Gonzales (Albert) of Colorado Springs, Colo .; and two grandchildren, Isaiah Torres Marez and Skylar Romero, both of Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis with military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
Pallbearers are Cipriano Encinias Sr., David Chavez, David Lopez II, Brian Daly, Nick Sisneros, Bill Autrey, Daniel Padilla and Jessie Chavez.
Honorary pallbearers are his friends and coworkers.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
