James Andrew “Andy” King, 87, of Clovis, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Abilene, Texas, to James Cleborn and Christi Anderson King.
He married Hazel Day on Sept. 11, 1938, in Abilene, Texas. He later remarried Patsy Moody in November of 1993 in Clovis. He was the owner/operator of Clovis Automotive Supply from 1948 until 1980 when he retired. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Clovis Kiwanis Club. Family members said he loved hunting, fishing and shooting.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Hazel Day King and Patsy Moody; his parents; two sisters, Mildred LaRoque and Ruth Caffey.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Johnson (and husband, Sidney) of Oxford, Miss.; a son, James “Jay” King (Pam) of Englewood, Colo.; two sisters, Christi Ann Kinsaul of Avondale Estates, Ga., and Alice Lou Long of Abilene, Texas; a brother, Jimmy King of Weatherford, Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Scott King and the Rev. Lance Clemmons will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Clovis.
