Claud William “Ray” Raybourn, 84, of Valley, Calif., died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Mission Hills, Calif.

He was born on July 10, 1919, in Clovis.

He was an Air Force bomber pilot in World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a Major Colonel in 1960. He was a successful owner of several businesses including Valley Carpet in Van Nuys, Calif. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ann Raybourn.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Raybourn; two children, Robert and Claudia; three step-children; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Raybourn of Newark, Del.; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn of Hollywood Hills, Calif.

Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Mortuary in Glendale, Calif.
