Grady Alpha Club

The Grady Alpha Club met on April 6 with Mary Frances Burnett and Mildred Moyers as hostesses.

Katy MacKechnie called the meeting to order with 11 members present. The treasurer’s report and a report on the club exchange were given. Grady Club members really enjoyed the Nite Owls visit.

Work Day at the Grady cemetery was set for May 15. The menu and price per plate were discussed for the Memorial Day dinner, which is to be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on May 25 at the Grady School.

The May Birthday Party will be at Page’s lake home in Logan. Everyone is to bring an exchange gift. Also, secret pals will be revealed at that time.

Pilot Club of Clovis

The Pilot Club of Clovis held its monthly business meeting on April 12 with eight members present.

Sue Rutter, president-elect, called the meeting to order. Invocation was given by Sylva Compton, chaplain. The election results for 2004-2005 club officers are: president, Sue Rutter; secretary, Valeria Jordan; treasurer, Janet Barnhart; PIF representative, Carlene McLain; chaplain, Sylva Compton; and the board of directors, Mildred Baker, Dorothy Baldock and Molly Stansell.

Projects Chairperson Molly Stansell asked for volunteers for Meals-On-Wheels, for April 26 through May 2. She has scheduled members to present “Brain Minders” to several of the schools. Our “Brain Minders” program reminds kids to wear their helmets while riding their bikes.

Pilot members will be attending the Southwest District Convention in El Paso, Texas, on April 22-25. There will be a luncheon meeting on April 26.
