Qwest introduces DSL to Tucumcari
High-speed Internet service, known as Qwest DSL, is now available in Tucumcari as a result of Qwest Communications International’s upgrading the local telecommunications network, according to a company news release.
In 2004 the company plans to invest an additional $200 million to expand DSL across its region.
With Qwest DSL, customers can surf the Internet at speeds ranging from approximately 256 kilobits per second to 1.5 megabits per second, which — at the highest DSL speed — is approximately 26 times faster than a traditional 56Kb dial-up connection.
