Mary Nell Thompson, 79, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Clovis, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Carmel Hills Living Center in Independence.
She was born June 29, 1924, in Malden, Texas, to Charles Lilburn and Clelia Casstevens Thompson.
She married Melvin G. “Tommy” Thompson on May 16, 1948, in Clovis.
She lived in Clovis most of her life, where her husband worked for the Santa Fe Railroad.
Family members said she enjoyed the Clovis/Portales Elks Lodge and the Clovis Masonic Lodge.
They said she was an active and long-time Member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, John Thompson.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Thompson of Independence; a sister, Dorothy Hicks of Tesuque; and nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Brad Reeves will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Services are by Muffley Funeral Home.
