Rogelio “Charro Negro” Aragon, 75, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Amarillo Nursing Center in Amarillo.
He was born on May 12, 1927, in Villanueva to Estanislado and Antonia Gonzales Aragon.
He married Paublita Salas on July 1, 1953, in Guymon, Okla.
He came to Clovis in 1955.
Family members said he was a horse trainer and loved to tell stories about horses.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters, Rita Morales and Mary Dominquez.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy (and wife Pam) Aragon, of Canyon, Texas, Leon Aragon, of Amarillo, and Paul (and Beverly) Aragon, of Clovis; three daughters, Mary Lou Lopez of Amarillo, Chana (and Bennie) Vega of Clovis, and Betty Aragon of Amarillo; a brother, Christian Aragon of Clovis; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.
The Rev. Carlos Chavez will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers include V.C. Smith, Gabriel Vega, Bennie Vega, Danny Garcia, Steve Garcia, and Steve Mondragon. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Templeman, Dr. Allan Ward, J.C. Graham, Benito Baca and Joe Montano.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
